4th of July

Our 4th of July was ultra awesome... My parents decided to host a get together after church in which our amazing friend Roxy (like another kid in the Dunnington Family) came up from Indianapolis to join our festivities. We had a few families attend from the ward and we ate, played Wii, endured the heat, and ate some fabulous grub (Jon works wonders at the grill). Right when families started to leave, Jon and Dad decided to head outside and "test" out our supply of fireworks (need to make sure that they work and all, right?!). They figured out that in order to make the best bottle rocket, you needed to attach some M-150's (approx 2) and trigger them to explode mid-air. Needless to say, they let out their inner-Pyro.

Test fire that got a little close!

My friend Roxy helped me put together a Temp Tattoo sleeve (showing my pride naturally).

Roxy and I busted out some sweet Glo-Sticks and made some Ghetto Fabulous bracelets and earrings.

Roxy and Mere October '07 -Random, I know... But I found it the other day and thought it was awesome!

Side Note: Roxy spent the night with us on Saturday night (which is always a good idea.). We spent the night: Making my mouth watering chocolate chips cookies, having an impromptu dance party in the living room at 3 a.m. (naturally to something as awesome as Enrique Iglesias and "Sex-Bomb" by Thom Jones), as well as watched "Lords of Dogtown." It was much needed girl time and it seemed like I never moved away! She's amazing and as I said previously, like another kid in my family.

Roxy in her awesome Roxy-Stance...

Getting all hyped for the fire works!--Nothing more fierce than light up star lights, ginormous bow worn as a head band, and temp tattoo sleeve... Heck yes!

My brother Garrett and I got all pumped for the Sparklers

Roxy, Me, and Garrot for our sweet fam photo!

Bro Keusch- He was our old Bishop when we lived in South Bend 10 yrs ago. He enjoyed setting off
the fireworks with the boys... Too bad Drew wasn't with us--He has a history of getting amped up for exploding stuff off of and around the house (True Story)

Jon setting up the "perfect" bottle rocket... Side Note: While we were sweeping up (before our night show), we saw a sweaty portly man walking alongside the road. We waved hello, since we assumed he was exercising but he had other plans which included a visit to our household. He approached Jon and asked if we understood that it was illegal to light fireworks onto other people's houses. He then proceeds to inform us that fireworks not only produce trash into other people's pristine yards but also could light an asphalt roof on fire. It took a lot to keep Jon from using his quick whit to inform him back that an asphalt roof is quite hard to light on fire. With Jon's ever so smug responses he quickly proceeded to get "heated" up and throw some "F"-Bombs since he moved to this area to get away from this Sh$t. Of course, he also added that we were to stop our shinnanegans immediately (8 p.m.-while it's still light outside), or he would call cops. Jon said, "We are almost finished and go ahead and call the cops." Especially since we know that cops have nothing to do on the 4th other than respond to fat sweaty neighbor's complaints about the use of legal fireworks. We did continue sweeping up and after our brief sweep up, we continued to light the rest of our stash to celebrate our Nation's Birthday since we love America... and the baby Jesus loves (as said by Jonathan).

After our own work out, (running around outside, blowing things up, cleaning up our mess) we enjoyed a nice swig of crisp cold flavored water from a freezing galvanized tub in our kitchen!

Not to mention, devour my world's famous chocolate chip cookies (oh yes, they are that good, trust me!).

After we said our goodbyes, we had a fabulous holiday... crotchety neighbors and all. :)
