Last night my mom and I had our ritualistic conversation about her day at work. She proceeds to tell me that a women walked into the store (sewing store is where she works) and browsed for who knows what... but the point is, is that you could totally see that she had work done. Staples were showing, skin was lifted in odd places and she looked perpetually surprised. Unfortunately, according to my mom, the woman looked like she was once quite attractive but now it's hard to tell with the odd lines and crazy scars.
I am glad that my mom never really gave into the whole Botox frenzy that seems to be spreading like wildfire amongst 40 yr old middle class housewives. I think that there is such a thing as aging gracefully. Some of the most beautiful women I have seen (on television or real life) have had little work done to themselves and iminate true beauty. I personally am excited to age. It seems to me that 40 is the new 20 these days without the pressure. At 20 something you have the stress of school, starting out your life, etc. But 40, your kids are out of the house, you're financially on your feet, and no one cares... Well, cheers to the women and men out there (famous or not) that have aged gracefully. My hats off to you!
